Freedom From Fairness

“That’s not fair!” How many times have we heard our children sing this chorus when life has handed them a situation that seems unjust? How many times have we ourselves cried out to God or anyone who will listen about the “unfairness” of life? Can I free you from fairness? Can we attempt to take a look at the world through a lense that isn’t demanding fairness?

See the trick and trap to fairness is that it limits you to an eye for an eye mentality. If someone hurts or harms you it demands payment for your suffering. It puts an actual price tag on the cost of what has happened to you and insists upon restitution. But what if God has restoration instead of restitution in His plans? What if God wants to give you SO MUCH more than what’s fair? What if He is working ALL things for the good of those who are called according to His purposes and has a bigger, better outcome in store for you?

This is easier said than done. I have had my fair share of times when I demanded answers, justice, “fairness” over circumstances in my life. I felt justified in demanding my rights. I wanted someone to pay for the wrongs that happened in my life. I stomped my feet and said “I’m not moving until this is resolved!”, and I didn’t move. I didn’t move any closer to healing, peace, or joy. After I wore myself out pitching my fit and demanding my rights, I laid them all down and asked God to have His way in my circumstances. I wanted to trade my “rights” for His best. It was then and only then when I began to move again and embrace the healing and restoration He had for me.

Will you believe God for the better outcome? Will you be able to receive the abundantly above and beyond plan that God has for you? While this process isn’t always easy, it is the trustworthy path .

Welcome friends to the path to restoration. I pray this message encourages you on your journey.

Much Love,
Kelli
